It is fascinating that some people criticize any talk of the devil or his devices. Especially when those critics are my brothers and sisters in Christ. But the goal here is to find a balance between skepticism and sensationalism. We are studying the world from a Biblical point of view...
Check out this tell-lie-vision commercial from the department store named Target. Fresh for the Christmas season.
It's not news to those who are paying attention, but the enemy is getting bolder by the day. Satan knows his hour is short, and he's pulling out all of the stops.
Job 1:7:
And the LORD said to Satan, "From where do you come?"
So Satan answered the LORD and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it."
So obviously the devil stays busy; he puts the "I work so hard, I'm in the studio 25-8" entertainment braggart to shame (all of them put together). Our time is short, too. But, what are we busy with? We are mostly busy slurping pop culture, instead of resisting him and his evil. Satan is much wiser than any human.
When the followers of Christ asked him about the end of the age, he talked about the Tribulation. (Matt 24:3) Verse 12 of that chapter is interesting: Jesus says, "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold." People's heart are hardened to that degree of cold, right now. No reasonable person would argue otherwise. Politics, law (on the judicial and enforcement sides), sports, finances, education, entertainment, etc... watching the worst of us prosper will cause the average person to grow hard-hearted and stiff-necked.
Maybe that explains why most of the world cannot be received by Jesus. And why these signs and symbols are all around us, yet people a) don't see it, b) don't care, or c) revel in the wickedness.
Thankfully, Matthew 24:13 is faithful. "But he who endures to the end shall be saved."
In the above images, the two singing Target reps act as the devils that sit on your shoulder. Why couldn't they possibly be on the angel side?
Because angels wouldn't pay homage to the devil, as these two shills are doing here. One to make the 666 hand signal... the other to salute the enemy of God and all mankind.
Clearly, we are not being told that everything is okay.
Most people are aware of the horned finger salute, displayed below by John Lennon of the Beatles. Paul McCartney is also paying homage.
The "o.k." sign is actually three 6's, each of the three vertical fingers forming an individual 6. 666!
We look at these things every day and most of us aren't even affected. Some people don't know from where these symbols originate. They use them just because they grew up doing so.
But many do know exactly what they are doing with these signals--it's obvious that they draw an energy from displaying it to the world.
It is obvious that most of us roll our eyes and laugh at any talk of conspiracy, of the devil, of evil as a force in and on the earth. The devil, and those who consciously do his work, know that you probably don't take it seriously. They know you've spent a lifetime digesting entertainment that is aimed at taking away any fear of the LORD.
Media is a part of the display as the controller of images.
They know we are sheep. And the sheep graze...
