Jeru is supposedly one of rap's "knowledge of self" icons. "Black man as god" and such. You can parse that out and call it whatever you want. But that's what it is.
"Too Perverted"... a self-description.
He is supposed to be some spiritual arbiter of wisdom.
"Playin' ya self"... "knowledge wisdom understanding". Can you truly have those, when you've rejected the Jesus of the Bible?
